Rhode Island Women’s Basketball has gotten their first transfer of the offseason to commit to Rhode Island!
Emma Squires who was a standout for Atlantic-10 rival Richmond this year has decided to transfer to Rhode Island. We rarely see Intra A10 transfers, but we have gotten one right here.
She led the Spiders in scoring in the season finale VS. VCU this season scoring 21 Points. Against Rhode Island, she made a career-high 7 three-pointers on her way to scoring a game-high 27 points. She leads the team with career-highs in points with 28 and a season-high 10 rebounds in a win at Ohio and shot 75 percent from the field including 4-of-5 from three along with a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line.
How will she fit for the Rams?
With Dolly Cairns and Emma Squires, I am sure the Rams will be a tremendous team shooting beyond the arc next season. It will be interesting to see how Coach Tammi Reiss will use the star from Richmond, but one thing is for sure. The future is now!
I tried to reach out to Emma Squires for a comment, but have yet to receive one.
