Now, as you probably know by now. Taylor Hall was traded to the Arizona Coyotes from the New Jersey Devils for three prospects and a couple of conditional draft picks. I love trades like this because it is impossible to know who won the trade because the players that New Jersey is getting are not even in the league yet. You’ll still find people saying that one team got robbed, or since Arizona got the best player they won the trade but the Devils acquired five young players that could be a big part of something in the future with Jack Hughes. time will tell who eventually wins this trade.

Let’s focus on the Yotes though because while Jersey is at the bottom of the league, the team from the desert is sitting atop the Pacific Division. Arizona has been a breakout team this year at the top of there division, all guys stepping up and buying into the head coach, Rick Tocchet. The only problem for Arizona making a trade is who gets bumped down in the top six because there is already so much talent with a young Clayton Keller, an underrated Derek Stephen and obviously the offseason pick up, Phil the thrill Kessel. They are also led by Oliver Ekmend- Larson on the defensive end who converted on the pass from Hall for the game-winner.

Now, after last night with the addition of Hall flying around on the ice as one of the fastest and most skillful players in the league. Hall had 208 points in the 211 games that he played for the Devils, winning the Hart (MVP) Trophy in 2017. This is exactly what Arizona needed, With the numbers that Hall puts up, with the success and already well-rounded team. An MVP caliber talent like Hall is exactly what they needed and he showed it last night.

This is the difference right here and why you trade for a player like Taylor Hall. In his first game playing on the team, he can single-handedly create the game-winning goal with under 5 minutes to go in the game. I mean a play like that is usually the D-man getting to it first and wrapping it around the boards, but with the speed with Hall has, he wins the race to the puck then creates space behind the net to feed Ekman-Larsson for the game-winner. With the addition of an MVP type player to an already well-rounded team at the top of there division, and still, half the year left for him to find a place in the lineup. The coyotes are a team to look out for and definitely throw a future bet on the make a run.
