The Mitchell twins have committed to the University of Rhode Island announced on Makhi’s Instagram page and their mom, Maria’s twitter on Monday.

The two 6’9 forwards left Maryland in December amid some rumors that they had caused issues at practice, however, nothing was found of that and their mom squashed those rumors on Twitter.

The two hail from Washington D.C. which any Rhode Island basketball fan would know, David Cox has a stronghold on the DMV area when it comes to mid-major recruiting. With former Rams Jeff Dowtin and Mekhi Long, and current Rams Jermaine Harris and Antwan Walker all hailing from the region.

The two big men should have a large (no pun intended) impact for the Rams if they are eligible for any part of this upcoming season.

With Cyril Langevine gone the Rams lose almost all of their interior presence, adding two bigs will really help the Rams.

That being said the Rams have two open scholarships remaining after adding fellow big Abou Ousmane. Expect the Rams to put their focus on a graduate transfer guard and maybe Zaire Wade?

All jokes aside on the Zaire Wade front, the Rams desperately need a shooting guard with the departure of Tyrese Martin this past week.
