Kentucky is getting a solid player who has real potential. His elite athletism and highlight real dunks will most certainly be on full display in Lexington. Every team in the country is looking to find the next star and what better way to try by bringing in a family member of this year’s Wooden Award winner.

Toppin was a consistent contributor off the bench for Rhode Island, improving as the season went on, averaging 5.1 points and 3.9 rebounds in just over 18 minutes per game.

Jacob Toppin will be missed in Kingston, the athletic forward was going to be the centerpiece in 2021 for the Rhode Island but Coach Cox will now have to do his best to coach an almost brand new roster. Toppin adds to the long list of off-season departures which includes Cyril Langevine, Jeff Dowtin, Mekhi Long, Tyrese Martin, and most likely Fatts Russell.
