It was banner night for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they celebrated their second Super Bowl title.

The most amazing thing about this night is that this is QB Tom Brady’s 7th Super Bowl title, first with the Buccaneers. Pre-Game saw the Buccaneers unveil their new championship signs on both sides of Raymond James Stadium.

Let’s take a look at the first game of the 2021-2022 NFL Season.

Quarter 1

Both Tom Brady and Dak Prescott looked great to start they game but both failed to reach the end zone on the first drives from scrimmage. Brady threw his first touchdown to Chris Godwin on a 9 play 94 Yard drive. Eventually Dak also found the end zone in Quarter 1 on a 75 Yard touchdown drive capped off by a throw to Ceedee Lamb.

Quarter 2

Brady found his best friend Rob Gronkowski for a touchdown in traffic, however midway through the second Buccaneers RB Ronald Jones fumbled the ball and Dallas recovered which set them up for 6, when Dallas QB Dak Prescott found WR Amari Cooper. Greg Zuerlein ended up missing the extra point. On the next drive Tom Brady threw a rare interception which ended up setting Dallas up for a field goal. The next drive Tom Brady found Antonio Brown on a two play drive that only lasted 38 seconds.

Quarter 3

To start the third, Dak Prescott had a long drive that only ended up for 3 points for the Cowboys. The Buccaneers defense stood tall. After an uneventful few minutes, Prescott threw an interception around then 8:30 mark of the 3rd. This set up the Bucs and Tom Brady again. Brady found Gronk on a tremendous touchdown for Gronk’s second TD of the night. On the next drive Prescott found Amari Cooper once again on a beautiful pass.

Quarter 4

After a mostly uneventful 4th Quarter, Tom Brady drove the Bucs down the field only for Chris Godwin to fumble the football inside the 5 Yard line. That would be the Bucs 4th turnover of the game. Dallas started to drive down the field, and on 3rd and 11 Prescott found CeeDee Lamb for a great gain that put them in field goal range, but penalty’s ended up bringing them back a little. Greg Zuerlein nailed a 48 yard kick to put the Cowboys up one with under two to go. Brady of course drove down the field like he always does and put the Bucs in field goal range. Ryan Succop nailed a 36 Yarder to win it for the Buccaneers. Brady comes up clutch yet again.

You can see that kick here…

Prescott and Brady looked amazing tonight. Prescott was 42/58, 403 Yards, and 3 TDs, and Brady was 32/50, 379 Yards, 4 TDs. It was an amazing game from both the Bucs and the Cowboys. Amari Cooper had himself a night as well grabbing two touchdowns. Gronk also chipped in with two TDs as well.

My Three Stars of the game are as follows…

  1. Tom Brady
  2. Dak Prescott
  3. Amari Cooper

Honorable Mention- Antonio Brown/Rob Gronkowski

WHAT A GAME! Great way to start of the 2021-2022 NFL Season.
