The Boston Celtics look to make it five wins in a row as they host the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers tonight, January 23rd.

In their last matchup on November 30th, the Celtics stomped over the Cavaliers for a 30-point victory. Injuries have been an obvious issue for the Cavs, as Kevin Love has missed all but four games this season, Tristan Thompson has missed multiple games due to foot soreness, and Larry Nance Jr. is still out with an MCL sprain. These injuries are seen as the main reason the Cavaliers hold the NBA’s worst record (9-39), and have lost nine out of their last ten games. The Celtics currently hold the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference, trailing the Milwaukie Bucks by five and a half games. Celtics superstar Kyrie Irving (Flu like symptoms) will not be facing off against his former team. In his last four games, Irving has shot 60.3 percent from the field, leading the Celtics to four straight wins. Al-Horford (rest) and Jabari Bird (Personal) will also be out of the lineup for tonight’s game.

My prediction for the game is a Celtics victory. Although Kyrie Irving and Al Horford are listed as out, the struggling Cavaliers also have a plethora of injuries. The depth and production of the Celtics bench will be a tough match for the Cavs, especially when playing in Boston. Although Lebron is gone, the relentless Boston crowd will not forget how the Cavaliers stopped them from reaching the NBA finals last season.
